The University of Leeds CanTest team is based in the Division of Primary Care, Palliative Care and Public Health within the Leeds Institute of Health Sciences, and works closely with the Leeds Centre for Personalised Medicine and Health. These are multi-disciplinary groups whose research is on cancer prevention, screening, detection and early diagnosis, in community and primary care settings.
Leeds CanTest Projects
Leeds’ CanTest research focuses on lung imaging, point of care tests for cancer, interventions to get GPs to think about cancer more frequently [ThinkCancer], personalised approaches to screening, risk assessment for head and neck cancer and developing and implementing a cancer rule-out test. We are developing work on the role of ultrasound, diagnosing cancer in the older and frail people, and in myeloma.
