The University of Washington CanTest team is based in the Department of Family Medicine. Our group of multi-disciplinary researchers involves expertise in diagnostic testing, bioinformatics and qualitative research whose focus is on detection and early diagnosis in primary care settings.

UW Family Medicine’s CanTest research focuses on improving the early diagnosis of individuals with lung cancer in primary care settings. We are better understanding the diagnostic pathways that patients experience using both qualitative methods and bioinformatics tools. We are using these to identify new interventions that can be applied at the primary care level.
